On 15th September 2024, Angkor Social Innovation Park (ASIP) hosted a dynamic youth workshop exchange in Siem Reap, bringing together students from Singapore and Cambodia. The event aimed to foster cross-cultural dialogue, collaboration, and innovation, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage in activities that blended creativity with practical learning.&nbsp;The day began with visits to two prominent local businesses in Cambodia. At ANON Cambodia, participants met with i-Stories alumnus Mr. Sengthai Kouch, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and insights on how traditional Khmer craftsmanship can drive eco-conscious, culture-based innovation. During the tour, they were introduced to innovative agricultural practices that combine sustainability with entrepreneurship. The visit offered a firsthand look at how natural resources can be utilized to build sustainable businesses, providing a unique learning experience for all involved.<img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/dgpjxwfoc/image/upload/v1726975779/DSC_02657_0cc21b3546.jpg" alt="DSC02657.jpg" width="7008" height="4672">After these insightful visits, the group gathered at Lagoon Restaurant for the afternoon session. The first activity was a fun and competitive treasure hunt, designed to challenge the students' teamwork and problem-solving skills in an engaging setting. This activity set the stage for deeper discussions on innovation and leadership.The highlight of the afternoon was a training session on "Future Thinking for Cambodia Vision 2050," conducted by Mr. Chhort Chhorravuth and Ms. Sok Puykea. This session encouraged participants to envision Cambodia's long-term future, considering the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and exploring how young leaders can contribute to the country’s vision for 2050. Finally, The day concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation, recognizing the active participation of all students, and final group presentations where participants shared their reflections from the day's activities. Building Tomorrow: Singaporean and Cambodian Students Explore Innovation and Sustainable Leadership

Angkor Social Innovation Park (ASIP) welcomed 15 innovative SMEs from Northwestern Cambodia for the i-Stories Cohort 2 orientation at Angkor University on August 12, 2024, in Siem Reap. This event marks the beginning of a transformative journey designed to empower these businesses through tailored innovation strategies and capacity-building initiatives. The day began with a warm welcome from Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Chairman of ASIP, who highlighted the importance of innovation in the Cambodian business landscape and set the tone for the day's activities. “i-Stories is the project that aims to strengthen the innovative ability of SMEs in the provinces, especially provinces along Tonle Sap lake. We hope that the training will put our SMEs to the&nbsp; next&nbsp; level of innovation either about their product development, producing processes and service” said by Dr. Vannarith.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Following this, Dr. Stefan Hanselmann, Head of Improve Competitiveness of National Enterprises (GIZ ICONE), delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the collaboration between ASIP and GIZ Cambodia in empowering local businesses through the i-Stories initiative. Dr. Stefan encourages all SMEs to be innovative as he stated that “ the role of change, the role of innovation will be the center of every organization to overcome a complex and challenging environment”. He also added that, “Everyone can innovate and innovation is nothing limited to the size, money, location, education or any of other factors. Innovation can happen anywhere, anytime by anybody”.&nbsp;&nbsp; Mr. Chhort Chhorravuth, Director and Project Leader of ASIP, provided an insightful presentation on the i-Stories project, outlining the program’s objectives and the roadmap ahead for the cohort. His presentation offered a detailed overview of the opportunities that lie ahead for the participating businesses.&nbsp; A highlight of the event was the experience-sharing session by Mr. Kouch Sengthai, CEO of ANON Cambodia and winner of i-Stories Cohort 1. Mr. Sengthai candidly shared his journey of innovation, detailing how the i-Stories project had catalyzed the growth of his business and provided him with the tools to succeed. i-Stories Cohort 2 Orientation commenced at Angkor University

Angkor Social Innovation Park (ASIP) is excited to announce the 15 impressive finalists selected for the i-Stories Cohort 2 project. This year’s selection process was thorough, involving careful evaluations and on-site visits to various business operations in Battambang, Siem Reap, and Banteay Meanchey provinces. ASIP team worked diligently to find the candidates with the greatest potential to bring about positive change in their communities.&nbsp;i-Stories Project is a two years project that aims to identify innovation of processes or products employed by companies to improve their competitiveness, and to raise awareness of relevant actors that can foster an enabling environment for promoting innovation culture among the business community in Northwestern Cambodia. On January 26th, 2024, Angkor Social Innovation Park (ASIP) organized a Special Webinar on the topic of the Future of Investment and Landscape in Tech and Sustainability. The webinar brought together a distinguished panel of experts, including Dr. Vannarith Chheang, a public policy analyst and government relations strategist, Mr. Copter Lee, a data analytics professional working at Google SEA Marketing team, and Miss Yan Xin Lee, a sustainability consultant and project manager at susGain, to explore the potential impact and investment opportunities in these areas. Technology and sustainability are two critical pillars that shape the future of our society and the planet. As we navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world, integrating technology and sustainable practices has become paramount. Technological innovations hold the potential to revolutionize industries, drive economic growth, and address pressing global issues such as climate change and resource depletion. Sustainability, on the other hand, calls for responsible and conscious practices that preserve our environment, promote social equity, and ensure the well-being of future generations. One of the key areas discussed during the webinar was technological innovations and their associated investment opportunities. Mr. Copter pointed out the significant growth of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Southeast Asia, projecting a three-digit increase. This surge indicates a promising investment opportunity in the EV industry. Additionally, Carbon Capture Technology was recognized as a crucial technology for mitigating carbon emissions. Inspiring i-Stories: Lessons from Special Webinars

The Angkor Social Innovation Fellowship (ASIF) proudly announces the successful completion of The Article presentation event, which was held at the Techo Startup Center, Phnom Penh, on June 1st, 2024. The event was conducted as a conclusion of the ASIF program, a three-month research program that aimed to nurture fellows to produce high-quality research papers. The event featured keynote speeches from esteemed speaker, Ms. Sok Puykea, the Project Development Manager, who delivered a warm welcome remark to the audience. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the fellows' groundbreaking findings, each addressing critical issues and proposing innovative solutions for Cambodia's development. Mr. Chhort Chhorraseth's research on enhancing e-commerce adoption in Cambodia shed light on the challenges influencing online shopping platforms in Cambodia and proposed effective strategies to address them, offering hope for the improvement of e-commerce platforms in the country. Ms. Prathna Leaphea's presentation, on the other hand, focuses on electric Vehicle adaptation in Cambodia. She underscored the importance of transitioning to electric vehicles which presents a promising path for environmental and economic well-being. Mr. Cheng Porchheng's insightful discussion on the impact of blockchain technology on Cambodia’s digital payment system highlighted the benefits of the blockchain system on the country's economy, particularly the implications of the Bakong QR payment system. Lastly, Ms. Khen Chankadekatepy's research on the Challenge of Waste-to-energy Projects in Cambodia raised specific issues regarding waste management in Cambodia, and proposed a potential solution to the problem, presenting a potential resolution to a pressing issue. Prior to the presentation, mentors meticulously evaluated each research paper, setting the stage for the main event. Following the presentations, the esteemed judges, Ms. Cherchhing Chiv and Ms. Sokleap Theng, carefully assessed each fellow's contribution. This ultimately led to the triumphant announcement of Ms. Khen Chankadekatepy as the winner of the 1st Cohort of the Angkor Social Innovation Fellowship. “As a developing country, Cambodia is faced with several challenges that limit the projects to operate for a long period due to a lack of financial support, an insufficient waste management system, and an inadequate regulatory framework. Even if there are obstacles that constraint waste-to-energy projects to fully function in Cambodia, it is still a possible solution to lessen waste management issues and provide the energy sources that are required for the country.” stated Ms. Tepy. Her findings and her delivery during the showcase presentation make her the most worthy winner of the Angkor Social Innovation Fellowship program. The Angkor Social Innovation Fellowship serves as a platform for nurturing and finding the best solutions for development, exchanging knowledge, and empowering innovative solutions through research. Angkor Social Innovation Fellowship Celebrates Successful Conclusion of its Inaugural Fellowship Program

i-Stories Cohort II is now open for applications!
